NFL Star Harrison Butker Slams Biden’s Abortion Stance And ‘Tyranny Of DEI’ In College Speech

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker aimed President Joe Biden’s support for abortion and the “tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion” during his commencement speech at Benedictine College on Saturday. Butker, a three-time Super Bowl champion, suggested that Biden, who is also Catholic, has betrayed his faith by backing abortion access.

“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,” Butker said, referencing Biden’s recent appearance at a Florida rally.

Butker said abortion, IVF surrogacy euthanasia and “growing support for degenerate cultural values in media” all stem from the “pervasiveness of disorder” caused by “bad policies and poor leadership.” He noted that many prominent figures pushing liberal policies, from Dr. Anthony Fauci to those advocating gender ideology are Catholic.

The NFL star criticized DEI policies, saying, “The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion.” Butker added, “We fear speaking truth because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.”

The speech at the conservative Catholic college also touched on traditional gender roles, with Butker encouraging female graduates to prioritize marriage and motherhood while urging male students to embrace their masculinity and fight against cultural emasculation.

Some critics, who view thriving communities and the aspiration for excellence as fundamentally flawed, have started to condemn Butker for his unwavering opposition to a deteriorating society.
