Green Party Candidate Jill Stein Accuses Democrats Of Blocking Her From Ballots
Jill Stein, the 2024 Green Party presidential candidate, claims that Democrats are making coordinated efforts to keep her off the ballot in several states, labeling them the “anti-Democratic Party.” During a recent interview with Breitbart, Stein said, “Democrats are trying to shut out political competition.” She pointed to legal challenges, including a petition filed by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) aimed at removing her from the ballot in Wisconsin.
The DNC’s petition, submitted to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, argues that the Green Party does not meet the state’s requirements for designating electors, making Stein and her running mate, Butch Ware, ineligible for the ballot. The Democrats’ move follows a prior complaint that was dismissed by the Wisconsin Elections Commission on a technicality.
Stein’s campaign dismissed the DNC’s legal arguments as frivolous, accusing Democrats of exploiting gaps in election laws to undermine third-party candidates. “This is a completely frivolous lawsuit intended to waste our time and resources,” said campaign representative Jason Call.
Stein also highlighted the broader strategy Democrats are using to suppress third-party competition, accusing them of hiring elite corporate lawyers to challenge her candidacy. The Green Party has already secured ballot access in 20 states, but Stein’s struggle mirrors that of other independent candidates, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has similarly faced ballot challenges in New York.
Stein vowed to fight back, saying, “If this is how the Democrats want to play, we will play hardball right back.”
