Trump Confirms Haley And Pompeo Will Not Join New Administration

President-elect Donald Trump announced over the weekend that former Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be part of his upcoming administration. The decision marks a departure from his previous Cabinet lineup, signaling a shift in personnel as Trump prepares for his next term.

Trump shared the news on Truth Social, writing, “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation.” He expressed gratitude for their past service, adding, “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country.”

Haley, who served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, responded graciously on X, wishing Trump success in his new term. “I was proud to work with President Trump defending America at the United Nations,” she wrote. “I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years.”

The decision comes as Trump assembles a team that will reflect his priorities for his second term. While Haley and Pompeo were prominent figures in his first administration, their exclusion underscores Trump’s focus on new leadership and a fresh approach to governance.

Both Haley and Pompeo have had independent political ambitions since leaving Trump’s administration. Haley launched her own presidential campaign earlier this year, and Pompeo has frequently hinted at aspirations for higher office. These moves may have influenced Trump’s decision to exclude them from his new team.

As Trump continues forming his Cabinet, his choices are being closely watched by supporters and critics alike. The move to leave out two high-profile figures from his first term reflects his determination to shape a team fully aligned with his vision for the next four years.
