Ben Shapiro Opens Door For Candace Owens To Quit
Daily Wire Co-Founder Ben Shapiro targeted conservative influencer Candace Owens over a post she made on Wednesday to her X account, the platform formerly known as Twitter. The post was apparently a new public heightening of tensions between the two Daily Wire stars, as disagreements between the two highlight the nuanced opinions within the conservative movement regarding the Israel-Hamas War that began after the horrific October 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas.
The post in question was a Bible verse that seemingly had nothing to do with Shapiro. His reply, however, tipped off audiences to a back-and-forth that has been heating up over Israel’s response to the terrorist attacks perpetrated against the country.
Owens’ post ended “You cannot serve both God and money,” to which Shapiro encouraged her to quit if she felt her position interfered with her relationship with God. It is still not confirmed whether or not Owens’ initial Tweet had anything to do with her employment at the Daily Wire.

From there, the two went back and forth in what is being dubbed the most unprofessional of Twitter wars. Owens let Shapiro know how she felt, replying, “You have been acting unprofessional and emotionally unhinged for weeks now.” She’s not alone in her thoughts.
This exchange wasn’t completely unprecedented. The two have been bickering for a while. On Tuesday, a clip of Shapiro surfaced in which he referred to Owens as “disgraceful,” with regard to her recent remarks on the Israel-Hamas war.
Later that evening, Owens shared a post on X, stating, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”
She continued, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will have the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Shapiro’s reply didn’t garner him nearly as much support, writing, “Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit.”

Owens retorted, “You have been acting unprofessional and emotionally unhinged for weeks now. And we have all had to sit back and allow it and have all tried to exercise exceeding understanding for your raw emotion. But you cross a certain line when you come for scripture and read yourself into it. I will not tolerate it.”

Both notable speakers on both sides of this debate saw an outpouring of support over the last two days, bolstering their positions.
Conservative star Tucker Carlson offered his platform as a space for Owens to voice her side of the argument. There is no word on whether Shapiro will do the same.
