President Donald Trump’s efforts to secure the nation are once again under attack from activist judges working hand in hand with leftist legal groups. A federal judge has blocked Trump’s latest attempt to deport members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, using flimsy legal reasoning to obstruct a clear national security priority.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg stepped in to halt deportations of nearly 300 suspected gang members, siding with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Democracy Forward, two groups known for their leftist agenda. The judge’s ruling directly interferes with Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act, a law that has been in place since 1798 and explicitly grants the president authority to remove foreign nationals deemed a threat.

The Department of Justice (DOJ), under Attorney General Pam Bondi, pushed back, stating that the courts have no jurisdiction to override Trump’s authority in matters of national security. Bondi condemned the ruling, pointing out that it puts law enforcement and the public at risk by keeping dangerous criminals inside the country.

Trump’s administration had already begun deportation flights when Boasberg suddenly intervened, issuing what the DOJ has argued was an unenforceable verbal order. The administration continued the process legally, only for the judge to demand details on the flights and further complicate the president’s immigration enforcement measures.

This is yet another example of leftist judges using lawfare to kneecap Trump’s presidency. The same forces that spent years launching politically motivated prosecutions to keep him out of the White House are now shifting their focus to blocking his policies at every turn. Their goal is clear — stop Trump from delivering on his promise to put America first.

Trump’s allies in Congress have condemned the judge’s interference, warning that activist courts have gone far beyond their constitutional role. The DOJ has already appealed the ruling and is working to remove Boasberg from the case, but the fight against lawfare is far from over.
