Trudeau Denies Mandating COVID Vaccines

On Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was accused of attempting to “rewrite history” after he claimed that he had never compelled anyone to receive a COVID vaccine.

At the University of Ottawa, while speaking with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the prime minister reminisced about his actions during the pandemic, highlighting that he relied on the guidance of medical experts. Trudeau emphasized that the experts advised him that “vaccination was going to be the way through” the crisis.

Trudeau said, “And therefore, while not forcing anyone to get vaccinated, I chose to make sure all the incentives and all the protections were there to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated.”

His comments were met with disapproval from those who recall the Trudeau administration’s firm actions during the pandemic. Trudeau declared on the government’s website in October 2021 that the federal workforce and federally regulated transportation sectors would be subjected to “mandatory vaccination.”

The statement read, “The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland, today announced details of the government’s plans to require COVID-19 vaccination across the federal public service and federally regulated transportation sectors.

Under the new policy, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration, including members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, will be required to confirm their vaccination status by October 29, 2021. Those who are unwilling to disclose their vaccination status or to be fully vaccinated will be placed on administrative leave without pay as early as November 15, 2021.”

The statement continued, “Employers in the federally regulated air, rail and marine transportation sectors will have until October 30, 2021, to establish vaccination policies that ensure employees are vaccinated. Effective October 30, 2021, travelers departing from Canadian airports and travelers on VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains will be required to be fully vaccinated, with very limited exceptions. The government is working with industry and key partners to put a strict vaccine requirement in place for cruise ships before the resumption of the 2022 cruise season.”

Trudeau faced backlash from Twitter users for denying his actions during the pandemic that affected Canadians.

“This man is a menace to society and the chief purveyor of misinformation and disinformation,” tweeted Canadian criminal attorney David Anber.

“He is truly something else,” tweeted author Gad Saad.

“Lies,” replied prominent conservative Harmeet Dhillon.

The Canadian government’s mandates were so vehemently opposed by some truckers that they orchestrated the “Freedom Convoy,” a protest of unprecedented scale in the nation’s capital that reverberated throughout the country.
