Journalist Who Targeted Tucker Carlson Arrested For Hacking
The left-wing journalist accused of revealing behind-the-scenes video footage of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was arrested Thursday and charged with hacking.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, 45-year-old Tim Burke was taken into custody on one count of conspiracy, six counts of accessing a protected computer without authorization, and seven counts of intercepting or disclosing wire, oral or electronic communications.
Federal agents in 2023 conducted a raid on Burke’s Florida home during which they seized computers and electronic devices.
The federal indictment accused the reporter of utilizing “compromised credentials” to infiltrate systems and save video footage. He and an unnamed suspect are further charged with disseminating what they found anonymously.
The Times reported that Burke is accused in the federal indictment of “accessing a file transfer protocol for one of the major sports leagues in North America.”
Burke was once employed by Deadspin and the Daily Beast. He currently owns a media and political consulting outfit that produces content for clients such as ESPN and HBO. His wife is a local city council member.
‘Progressive’ journalist Tim Burke was indicted and arrested on 14 federal crimes including conspiracy charges for hacking Fox News and leaking the Tucker Carlson videos.

But his claim to fame is in leaking videos of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The footage showed the wildly popular conservative criticizing colleagues for publicizing their “preferred gender pronouns.” He made what some deemed to be insensitive comments about a makeup artist.
Some of the video revealed by Burke reportedly showed Carlson commenting about a Dominion Voting Systems lawyer after sitting for a deposition. The company and Fox News later settled a lawsuit for a staggering $787.5 million.
Live mic footage was also distributed of an interview with rapper Kanye West. He allegedly made antisemitic remarks off the air while cameras were rolling.
The indictment of Burke did not specifically mention Tucker Carlson or Fox News. However, prosecutors pointed to a stream with a video from a “multinational media company based in New York City.”
It was dated Oct. 6, 2022, the day the Carlson interview of West was broadcast on Fox.
