Hillary Clinton, Liz Cheney And Joe Biden Stripped Of Security Clearances

President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearances of several high-profile political figures, including Hillary Clinton, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Joe Biden. The decision also affects other prominent former officials and allies of the previous administration.

In an official memo, Trump directed agency heads to immediately end classified access for a wide list of individuals, stating that it was no longer in the national interest for them to retain access to U.S. government secrets. The order impacts current and former political figures, lawyers involved in past investigations and members of Biden’s family.

The directive removes security clearances from Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and others including Fiona Hill, Adam Kinzinger, Alexander Vindman, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid and Andrew Weissman. Alvin Bragg, Letitia James and Norman Eisen were also included in the order.

Trump instructed that all executive agencies not only revoke clearances but also strip unescorted access to secure U.S. government facilities. The president’s order extends to individuals who may have obtained classified access through private sector roles, requiring federal agencies to notify their employers of the revocation.

According to Trump, the goal is to prevent information leaks and block individuals deemed disloyal from accessing sensitive data. He emphasized that political opponents who once had access to intelligence should no longer be trusted with national secrets.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard previously confirmed that security clearances had already been revoked for Blinken, Sullivan, Monaco, Bragg, Weissman, Eisen and James, along with those who signed the letter about the Hunter Biden laptop in 2020.

Trump has also signed executive orders removing clearance access from the law firms Perkins Coie and Paul Weiss, citing their involvement in politically motivated investigations. Perkins Coie has since sued the administration, while Paul Weiss reached an agreement to rescind the directive.

Biden, who previously barred Trump from receiving intelligence briefings in 2021, had said the decision was based on concerns about Trump’s behavior. Now, the Trump administration has flipped that argument, using similar reasoning to block Biden and others from accessing classified material.
