FBI Raids Home Of Top Eric Adams Aide
The FBI raided the Bronx home of a top aide to besieged Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday. The target was senior adviser and director of Asian affairs Winnie Greco.
Federal agents closed the road around her Pelham Bay home early Thursday and were still on the site by mid-afternoon.
The city’s Department of Investigation put her under the microscope after reports emerged that she received improper benefits related to her job. Her position pays $100,000 per year.
It is not certain whether Thursday’s action by federal authorities is connected to that probe. However, New York City Hall officials reported that the 61-year-old was placed on leave after the raid on her residence.
Among the accusations faced by Greco is that she sought a $10,000 donation to her nonprofit. The source of the donation was to be a respected Chinese-American businessperson who wished to participate in an event targeting Asians held by Mayor Adams.

There are also allegations that she assured a campaign volunteer that they would gain employment with the city government if they assisted in renovating her kitchen.
The city addressed the raid of the senior advisor in a statement.
It read: “Our administration will always follow the law, and we always expect our employees to adhere to the strictest ethical guidelines.” Officials refused further comment but noted that “the mayor has not been accused of any wrongdoing.”
Greco’s connections with the mayor are longstanding. She worked as a volunteer fundraiser while Adams was the Brooklyn borough president and was also his Chinese community liaison.
She is credited with assisting a trip by Adams to China.
Greco is the second prominent Adams aide to face federal scrutiny. The FBI in November raided the home of top fundraiser Brianna Suggs after allegations of involvement in a kickback plot with the Turkish government.
That was not enough for Suggs to be purged from the Democratic administration. Adams told the New York Post that she continues to handle “administrative work” for his campaign.
It must be noted that the federal scrutiny was applied to the Adams camp after he forcefully accused the Biden White House last year of abject failure in dealing with the border crisis. His city is currently under siege with tens of thousands of illegal migrants straining its services.
