
Tourist Stabbed In Random Attack While Walking With Daughter Near Times Square
A tourist from Pennsylvania was stabbed in the chest in aa completely unprovoked attack near Times Square on Saturday evening while walking with her daughter. The 38-year-old woman was attacked around 6:13 p.m. on 43rd Street and 8th Avenue according to authorities.
The suspect, a 61-year-old man, was taken into custody at the scene and a knife was recovered. Sources said the man is well known to the police department and is undergoing a psychological evaluation.

Surveillance video captured the shocking incident showing the attacker using a walker to exit a nearby deli and loitering outside before lunging at the unsuspecting woman with a large knife. The footage shows the man stabbing the tourist across the chest before returning to his seat with the knife on his lap.
Police officers arrived minutes later and arrested the suspect identified as Cyril Destin. Destin has a lengthy criminal history with 14 arrests in the past 20 years mostly for criminal mischief and trespassing, including four arrests since 2019, according to police sources.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated for a stab wound to the chest and listed in stable condition. The terrifying random attack in the busy tourist area known for its heavy police presence has left many shocked and bewildered.
