Axelrod Warns Trump Ballot Removal Would ‘Rip Country Apart’
Former Obama administration official and prominent Democratic strategist David Axelrod issued a stern warning to fellow Democrats attempting to strip former President Donald Trump from this year’s presidential ballot.
Addressing CNN on Friday, he declared that such an act “would rip the country apart.” Axelrod said he has “very, very strong reservations about all of this” and the only proper way to keep Trump out of the White House is to defeat him in a fair election.
The former Obama senior advisor noted that tens of millions of Americans want to vote for Trump.

However, Democrats are attempting to disenfranchise the vast majority of Republican voters by denying Trump’s position on primary ballots. Colorado’s Supreme Court stripped the former president from the state’s Republican primary choices before he was reinstated.
And Maine quickly followed suit when leftist Secretary of State Shenna Bellows unilaterally ruled that GOP voters did not have the right to choose their preferred candidate.
Axelrod claimed that Trump’s removal from the Maine ballot supported the former president’s narrative that Democrats targeted him because of his presidential bid. Of course it did.
The former Obama official claimed, “A lot of the motivation for [Trump’s] candidacy was as a legal defense strategy.” This is where his argument slipped off the rails.
After all, does anyone truly believe that Trump is only running for the White House to defend himself from Democratic attacks? After all, the deluge of indictments came after he was well known to be running for another term.
But Axelrod persisted. “He wanted to set up a construct…which says that they’re coming after him because he’s running for president, and they’re trying to prevent him from being president.”
That “construct” turned out to be demonstrably true.
Axelrod credited the Democratic witch hunt for greatly assisting Trump’s candidacy. He noted that the Republican frontrunner’s popularity increased as the indictments mounted.
He added, “what you thought might be kryptonite for him has turned out to be battery packs, and this is a big one for him.” That much is true. After all, Trump’s popularity soared when Democrats made the mistake of trying to humiliate him with the infamous mug shot.
The party of the left, as many in their own ranks realize, is resorting to third world antics to win in 2024.
