Vice President Harris Backs Mass Amnesty Plan For Illegal Aliens

Vice President Kamala Harris is promoting a plan that could provide a fast-tracked pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. During an interview with Fox News, Harris praised the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, a sweeping amnesty proposal sent to Congress immediately after President Joe Biden took office.

The legislation would grant “Lawful Prospective Immigrant” status to illegal aliens, allowing them to work legally, obtain Social Security numbers, and travel outside the U.S. After five years in this status, they could apply for green cards, and just three years later, they would be eligible to apply for citizenship.

The Biden administration’s plan would benefit nearly all of the estimated 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. This includes a special provision for illegal farmworkers, DACA recipients, and those on TPS, all of whom would receive immediate green cards and citizenship within three years.

Harris emphasized that fixing the immigration system was a priority from the start of the Biden administration. In her interview, she defended the amnesty plan as necessary to provide illegal immigrants with a legal path to citizenship, which would also allow them to vote if they meet all eligibility requirements.

One provision of the plan would allow illegal aliens deported under President Donald Trump to return to the U.S. and apply for citizenship, as long as they lived in the U.S. for three years before deportation.
