DOGE personnel acted quickly, freezing USAID’s financial networks and cutting off access to classified systems. More than 600 employees were locked out overnight, while two top security officials, including Director of Security John Voorhees, were placed on leave for attempting to block DOGE’s access. Musk, who has been outspoken about USAID’s role in questionable financial dealings, confirmed on X that Trump had personally approved DOGE’s actions.
