Trump’s Border Czar Pledges Workplace Raids To Combat Illegal Immigration

President Donald Trump’s incoming “border czar” announced a tough stance on illegal immigration, promising to reinstate workplace raids as part of a broader strategy to target sex and labor trafficking. Tom Homan, the former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director, was named to the position Sunday by Trump.

Homan outlined his approach during an appearance on Fox & Friends Monday, stating that illegal immigration fuels human trafficking operations. “Where do we find most victims of sex trafficking and forced labor trafficking? At worksites,” Homan said.

Critics have accused Homan of conflating traffickers with their victims, a point that has sparked backlash from some activist groups. Nevertheless, Homan has remained firm in his stance, arguing that targeting illegal workplaces will aid in dismantling trafficking networks.

Homan also criticized the Biden administration, claiming it has “lost over 300,000 children that were smuggled in this country by criminal cartels.” He highlighted the administration’s lax enforcement policies as contributing to these alarming figures.

The incoming border czar promised that deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records would remain a top priority. Even sanctuary cities will not be exempt, according to Homan, who said ICE would adapt its strategies as needed to enforce immigration laws.

“If we can’t get assistance from New York City, we may have to double the number of agents we send to New York City,” Homan said. “We’re going to do the job with you or without you.”

Homan’s plan reflects the Trump administration’s continued focus on strict border policies, signaling a significant shift from the Biden administration’s approach. As the incoming czar takes the helm, his promises of workplace enforcement and a crackdown on sanctuary policies are expected to reignite debates on immigration reform.
