Trump Cuts Funding To South Africa, Opens Path For Farmers To Relocate To US

The Biden-Harris administration’s policies toward South Africa are being reversed under President Donald Trump, who announced that the U.S. will stop providing federal aid to the country over its anti-White land confiscation laws. Trump also declared that South African farmers facing government-backed expropriation will be welcomed into the U.S. with a streamlined path to citizenship.

Trump’s executive order highlights the Expropriation Act 13 of 2024, which allows South Africa’s government to take agricultural land from white farmers without offering any compensation. The order describes the policy as a racially discriminatory attack on property rights and cites broader government actions that have led to disproportionate violence against White landowners.

In response, Trump is directing federal agencies to cease financial support for South Africa until its policies change. The order states that South Africa’s actions are not only unjust but also undermine U.S. foreign policy by strengthening ties with nations such as Iran.

Along with cutting aid, the administration is expediting the process for South African farmers seeking safety in the U.S. Trump announced that these individuals and their families would receive priority consideration for resettlement. The new policy is set to take effect immediately.

The issue of land seizures has been a concern in South Africa for years, with past attempts leading to severe economic downturns in neighboring Zimbabwe. Trump has previously criticized the policy and now appears determined to take direct action against the South African government’s latest measures.
