Trump Calls Out Kemp’s Loyalty At Georgia Rally
President Donald Trump did not hold back his criticism of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) during a rally at Georgia State University on Saturday. Trump, who “lost” Georgia by a narrow margin in 2020, continues to blame Kemp for not supporting his reasonable claims of election fraud.
Trump used his social media platform to criticize Kemp, stating that the governor should be “fighting crime, not fighting unity and the Republican Party.” He also took aim at Kemp’s wife, Marty, for her stated intention to write in her husband’s name in the upcoming presidential election.
At the rally, Trump spent a significant portion of his speech attacking Kemp. “He’s a bad guy. He’s disloyal. And he’s a very average governor,” Trump declared. The crowd, filled with enthusiastic supporters, cheered in agreement.
Kemp responded to Trump’s remarks on social media, urging the former president to “leave my family out of it” and to focus on more pressing issues. However, Trump’s base remains firmly behind him, showing unwavering support.
Georgia is expected to be a key state in the upcoming election. Trump’s visit to Atlanta underscores the significance of Georgia’s vote. His supporters, such as Draic Coakley, a 23-year-old from Alabama, are passionate about his campaign. “President Trump understands people like me,” Coakley said. “He may be a billionaire, but he’s relatable.”
Trump’s narrow “loss” to Joe Biden in Georgia by just 11,779 votes in 2020 continues to fuel his claims of election fraud. Kemp, who certified the election results, has been a frequent target of Trump’s criticism. Despite this, Kemp has maintained his popularity and is poised to chair the Republican Governors Association for the 2026 election cycle.
