Trump Administration Targets Child Trafficking That Exploded Under Biden-Harris Regime

The Trump administration is intensifying its efforts to address child trafficking, which has grown during the Biden-Harris years. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller emphasized the administration’s focus, stating, “We’ve seen, as you know, half a million children trafficked over a four-year period in the United States. This administration is going to investigate every instance of child trafficking, labor trafficking, s–x trafficking, child smuggling, and all the attendant crimes involved in that. And our message to everyone in the country is to cooperate fully with Immigration and Customs Enforcement so that we can end the scourge of child trafficking and child abuse that has been endemic these last four years.”

Reports and testimonies from whistleblowers have shed light on alarming issues tied to the surge of unaccompanied minors at the border. HHS whistleblower Tara Rodas testified that thousands of children have been funneled through federal programs without adequate vetting of sponsors. According to Rodas, some sponsors had links to criminal organizations, such as MS-13, and used the system to traffic children.

During a recent congressional hearing, lawmakers scrutinized the handling of unaccompanied minors under the Biden-Harris administration. Subcommittee Chairman Clay Higgins (R-LA) criticized the policies for prioritizing quick releases over thorough background checks. Counter-trafficking expert Alicia Hopper explained that cartels exploit these programs, referring to Border Patrol agents as “Migrant Uber” due to their role in transporting children to sponsors without proper oversight.

Retired Border Patrol agent J.J. Carrell testified about the grim realities at the border, including organ harvesting. “Organ harvesting is real,” Carrell said. “This federal government’s bringing children over, that are being lost, sexually mutilated, raped, murdered.” Hopper added that vulnerable children traveling alone are prime targets because they have no one to advocate for them.

Anti-trafficking advocate Lisa reported that nearly all trafficking rings she encounters now involve migrant girls. She highlighted the increase in advertisements for trafficked girls on platforms like TikTok and Facebook, with many ads written in Spanish. The spike, she said, began shortly after border policies were loosened in 2021.

Federal data shows more than 85,000 children placed with sponsors remain unaccounted for. Investigators also found that nearly 20% of sponsors were approved without completing background checks.
