Stephen Miller Declares Full Federal Resources Will Be Used For Mass Deportations
White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller announced that the Trump administration will deploy the full power of federal agencies to carry out a large-scale deportation effort. Speaking at a press briefing, Miller emphasized that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Department of Defense (DOD) will be fully engaged in enforcing final removal orders and expelling criminal illegal immigrants.
“I can promise you that the full might of DHS, DOJ, DOD, and every element of national power will be used to remove with speed all criminal illegals from the soil of the United States,” Miller stated. He reaffirmed that the administration’s focus is on ensuring that the country is for American citizens and legal residents.
Miller pointed to the administration’s swift action since taking office, including sealing the border, classifying cartels as terrorist organizations, and restoring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to full operational capacity. He claimed ICE deportations have reached levels not seen in decades and that the government is now moving at an unprecedented pace.
Within the first 18 days of Trump’s return to the White House, approximately 11,000 illegal immigrants have already been deported. Plans are in motion to expand detention facilities, including at Guantanamo Bay, where the first groups of illegal immigrants have arrived. The facility is being prepared to house up to 30,000 detainees.
The administration has also reported a sharp drop in illegal border crossings, citing a 93% decline in apprehensions at ports of entry since January 20. Officials credit the stricter enforcement policies for the dramatic decrease.
Miller signaled that these efforts will continue to ramp up, making it clear that the administration is fully committed to removing those in the country illegally.
