Rhode Island Judge Resigns After FBI Searches Immigration Law Office
Joseph Molina Flynn, a Central Falls municipal court judge and immigration lawyer, resigned after federal agents executed a search warrant at his Providence law office. The FBI, alongside Homeland Security officials, seized various documents and electronic devices during the raid, which took place Thursday.
Witnesses reported seeing black SUVs and police vehicles parked outside the office building as agents moved in. Authorities have yet to disclose the reason behind the investigation, but sources familiar with the situation confirmed it was underway prior to President Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Molina Flynn, who arrived in the US from Colombia as a child, spent 15 years without legal status before obtaining citizenship. He established his law practice in 2015, handling immigration, family, and criminal cases across Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
The Rhode Island Office of Disciplinary Counsel acknowledged the investigation and confirmed that Molina Flynn has not been charged with any criminal offenses. Meanwhile, federal prosecutors have remained tight-lipped about the nature of the inquiry.
The search and subsequent resignation have sparked widespread speculation, with videos of agents removing boxes of materials from the law office circulating on social media.
