Reports Suggest Biden May Leave 2024 Race, Harris Not Endorsed

President Joe Biden is rumored to be considering an exit from the 2024 presidential race, with an announcement potentially coming as early as this weekend. Veteran reporter Mark Halperin has indicated that Biden will not endorse Vice President Kamala Harris if he steps down. Halperin shared this information on X and during a Newsmax segment, citing unnamed sources.

These rumors come as pressure mounts within the Democratic Party for Biden to step aside. Influential party members, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and former President Barack Obama, have reportedly urged Biden to allow a new candidate to lead the ticket. Despite this, Biden’s campaign has denied the claims.

Biden spokesperson TJ Ducklo told Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman that Halperin’s report is “entirely inaccurate.” Another campaign aide stated, “The President is more committed than ever to winning this election.”

According to Halperin, Biden’s withdrawal could result in an open Democratic convention, with Harris and other candidates competing for the nomination. Harris is said to be evaluating potential running mates, including Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.

Speculation has been fueled by Biden’s recent interview with BET, where he stated he would step down if faced with a medical condition. Following this interview, Biden tested positive for COVID-19 and canceled his remaining campaign events in Nevada, intensifying the rumors.

Halperin plans to continue discussing the possible ramifications of Biden’s withdrawal, including the roles of key figures like Pelosi and the expected strategies from the Trump campaign.

As the Democratic Party navigates these developments, the coming days will be crucial in determining their strategy for the 2024 election. The political landscape is rapidly evolving, with potential significant changes in leadership on the horizon.
