Two leftist lawyers are pushing Congress to overturn President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, a move that disregards the will of the voters and undermines the Constitution. Evan Davis and David Schulte argue Trump is ineligible under the 14th Amendment, despite no conviction of insurrection or rebellion.

The lawyers point to Trump’s second impeachment trial, where seven Republicans voted to convict him, though the Senate ultimately acquitted him.

They also reference the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Trump, which the U.S. Supreme Court later nullified, declaring that states lack authority to bar federal candidates.

Their final argument relies on findings from the January 6 Committee, a panel widely criticized for witness tampering and biased reporting. Evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee has debunked claims that Trump incited violence or encouraged chants of “Hang Mike Pence!”

Davis and Schulte propose rejecting Trump’s electoral votes to install Kamala Harris as president. This plan is an affront to American voters and a dangerous precedent that undermines the electoral process.
