Pentagon Report Reveals UFO And Commercial Aircraft Nearly Collide Over New York
The Pentagon’s latest annual report on UFOs has uncovered hundreds of new instances of unexplained aerial phenomena, including a “near miss” between a commercial airplane and a mysterious object near New York. The incident, reported to the Federal Aviation Administration, is now under investigation by the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).
The report highlights 757 cases of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) reported to authorities between May 2023 and June 2024. Among these, the New York event was the only one flagged as a “possible flight safety issue.” Details about the incident, such as the airline involved or the exact timing, remain unclear.

In this case, the flight crew described a “cylindrical object” spotted over the Atlantic Ocean near New York. While investigators are still analyzing the event, it underscores the potential risks these sightings pose to aviation safety.
Of the hundreds of cases reviewed, investigators managed to identify nearly 300 objects, attributing them to balloons, drones, satellites, and birds. However, a significant number of incidents remain unresolved, primarily due to insufficient information.
Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough confirmed with IGN that recently shared photos and videos of UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) were in fact taken by US Navy personnel for "ongoing examinations." https://t.co/U5DQ9ZuaqX pic.twitter.com/0fpiDv2Rzp

The report stresses that none of the sightings reviewed by AARO have shown evidence of extraterrestrial origins. “It is important to underscore that, to date, AARO has discovered no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology,” the report stated.
The findings also highlight the growing prevalence of mistaken sightings due to Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite system, as people increasingly confuse satellite chains with UFOs. Still, reports of unidentified lights, spherical objects, and even jellyfish-like shapes with flashing lights continue to add intrigue to the ongoing study of UAPs.

The near miss over New York serves as a reminder of the importance of investigating these phenomena, particularly when they intersect with public safety. The Pentagon’s focus on transparency reflects a broader effort to understand and address the potential implications of these mysterious encounters.
