Paxton Takes Legal Action Against Biden-Harris Over Voter Citizenship Verification
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris Administration, accusing them of refusing to comply with a request to verify the citizenship status of nearly 450,000 voters. The lawsuit claims that the administration has failed to meet its legal obligations under federal law, which requires the government to assist states in verifying voter eligibility.
The lawsuit follows a formal letter sent by Paxton on October 7, requesting the federal government’s help in confirming whether individuals who registered without Texas-issued identification are eligible to vote. Paxton argues that while many of these voters are likely citizens, the state needs the information to ensure election integrity.

Paxton has criticized the administration’s refusal to comply, saying, “The law demands that they provide important information regarding the citizenship of nearly half a million potentially ineligible voters. Since the Biden-Harris Administration has chosen to ignore the law, I will see them in court.”
The Texas Secretary of State has joined the lawsuit as a co-plaintiff, underscoring the state’s commitment to election security.
