PAC Funded By Soros Funnels Millions Into Texas, Plans To Flip State Blue

A political action committee (PAC) largely funded by billionaire George Soros has quietly ramped up efforts to help Democrats flip Texas in the upcoming election, recent campaign finance reports reveal. The Texas Majority PAC spent over $5 million between July and September, focusing on key congressional races and heavily Democratic regions.

This influx of funding comes as the race between Democratic Senate candidate Colin Allred and incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) tightens, with Cruz holding a slim 3.6-point lead in recent polls. Much of the PAC’s spending targets majority-Hispanic areas like Cameron, Hidalgo, and El Paso counties, regions that have shifted toward Republicans in recent election cycles.

Dallas County Democrats were also major beneficiaries, receiving about $1 million from the PAC to boost get-out-the-vote efforts, voter registration and canvassing. This investment could be pivotal, as the county delivered a net gain of 291,500 votes for Democrats in the 2020 election.

Critics, including Cruz’s campaign, warn that outside money from Soros and other liberal donors is a coordinated effort to alter the state’s conservative stronghold. “Soros knows that flipping Texas would change the direction of the entire country,” said a Cruz campaign spokesperson. “Texans must show up in full force to protect our values.”

The PAC’s efforts are a clear sign that Democrats see an opportunity to make significant gains in Texas as Election Day approaches.
