Kamala Harris Criticized For Choosing Podcast Over Hurricane Response

Vice President Kamala Harris (D-CA) has sparked outrage after participating in the explicit podcast “Call Her Daddy” while Hurricane Helene was wreaking havoc across the southeastern United States. As the storm has led to over 200 fatalities and left many without power, critics are questioning her priorities during this time of crisis.

Donald Trump Jr. took to social media to express his disappointment, stating, “Americans are dying and this is how the sitting Vice President is spending her time!” The podcast episode, focusing on abortion, was recorded on Tuesday, amidst the rising death toll and destruction from the hurricane.

Many have pointed out the disconnect between Harris’s podcast engagement and the serious situation facing many Americans. One critic noted, “While the death toll in North Carolina continues to rise, residents see their family members hanging in trees, and aid is actively being blocked by FEMA, Kamala Harris decided to film an episode of ‘Call Her Daddy.’”

The Associated Press has reported significant damage caused by the hurricane, with at least 30 deaths confirmed in North Carolina. Ongoing relief efforts are hampered, with search teams using cadaver dogs to locate missing persons in flooded areas.

In stark contrast, former President Donald Trump visited affected areas in Georgia to highlight the need for immediate assistance, while President Biden and Harris did not arrive until Wednesday, prompting further scrutiny of their response.

As of Friday, the death toll had surpassed 200, and communities continued to struggle without power. Harris’s decision to participate in the podcast during such a critical time has raised questions about her commitment to addressing the needs of the American people.
