Jill Biden Slams Pelosi For Betraying Joe, Says 50-Year Friendship Is Over

Jill Biden has expressed her deep disappointment with Nancy Pelosi following the former Speaker’s role in pushing President Joe Biden out of the 2024 presidential race. The first lady, in an emotional exit interview, spoke candidly about how Pelosi’s actions have ended their long friendship of over five decades.

“We were friends for 50 years,” Jill Biden said, reflecting on their now-broken relationship. “It was disappointing,” she added, revealing the hurt caused by Pelosi’s efforts to force Joe Biden to drop out after his poor debate performance in June 2024.

According to Mary Doody, a close friend of the Bidens, the betrayal was deeply felt within the family. “It was awful. It was mean. It was disrespectful,” Doody said, expressing the sentiment that Joe Biden did not deserve the treatment he received from Pelosi. Jill Biden, known for holding onto grudges, was particularly upset by Pelosi’s behind-the-scenes maneuvering, which ultimately led to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race in July 2024.

Further complicating matters, Jill Biden had long been opposed to Kamala Harris as her husband’s running mate, especially after Harris’s remarks about Joe Biden’s past on race during the primary debates. That tension likely influenced Joe Biden’s quick decision to endorse Kamala after he dropped out, a move that some believe was a calculated act of revenge against Pelosi’s open support for a primary challenge.

Jill Biden’s frustration with Pelosi is also tied to the former Speaker’s push for an open Democratic primary, which would have allowed other candidates to step forward. Jill, according to sources, was determined to preserve her husband’s legacy and authority, seeing Pelosi’s actions as an attempt to undermine both.

Reflecting on Pelosi’s role in the 2024 election cycle, Jill Biden made it clear that their relationship could not recover from this betrayal. While Pelosi has publicly claimed she only wanted what was best for the party, Jill Biden remains unconvinced.

Jill also took a shot at Michelle Obama, who skipped key events such as Donald Trump’s inauguration and Jimmy Carter’s funeral. “Joe and I respect our institutions, our traditions,” Jill Biden said, subtly contrasting her own commitment to the office with Michelle Obama’s absence.
