Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Faces Lawsuit Over Allegations Of Impersonating Texas Officials
Attorney Tony Buzbee has filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and two of its lawyers, alleging that they violated Texas laws by impersonating state officials and engaging in barratry to interfere with his ongoing legal work. Buzbee, who represents 120 plaintiffs in cases against Sean “Diddy” Combs, claims the alleged misconduct was aimed at disrupting his firm’s ability to pursue high-profile litigation.
The lawsuit accuses Roc Nation lawyers Marcy Croft and Quinn Emanuel of orchestrating a scheme to convince Buzbee’s clients to sue his firm. According to the filing, Roc Nation agents posed as Texas state officials, used fake badges, and offered financial incentives to encourage clients to take legal action against the Buzbee Law Firm. In one instance, agents allegedly offered $10,000 to a client to file a lawsuit.
Jay-Z pleads his innocence while having his goons go through the trouble of illegally impersonating, posing as Texas state officials, contacting clients of the Buzbee law firm and manipulating them to file lawsuits against Buzbee's law firm.

“These folks have stooped to a new low,” Buzbee said in a statement. “We will not be bullied or intimidated. They got sloppy and were caught on tape engaging in illegal schemes.” Buzbee also claims Croft was recorded discussing the alleged conspiracy in detail, stating that some former clients had already accepted payments to participate.
Roc Nation denied the allegations, calling Buzbee’s claims baseless. “Tony Buzbee’s baloney lawsuit is a pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention,” a Roc Nation representative said in an email statement. Croft also dismissed the accusations, describing them as “fantastical allegations” designed to deflect from Buzbee’s legal challenges.
What is Jay-Z so worried about that he would have his team impersonate Texas state officials! The acts themselves suggest some panic, hear and ultimately guilt!!! Retarded sexual predator he must be? https://t.co/qf6j1ZdXw8

The lawsuit emerges amid ongoing litigation involving Combs and Jay-Z, who are accused of serious crimes, including sexual assault. Both men deny the allegations. Combs’ trial in a sex trafficking case is set for May 2025.
Court documents reveal transcripts of recorded audio allegedly capturing a Roc Nation agent offering money to a Buzbee client. “We gave this kid 1,000 bucks to start yesterday,” the agent reportedly said in the recording.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is scheduled for a pretrial conference in New York later today, where additional developments in the high-profile case may surface.
