FEMA Supervisor Fired For Targeting Trump Supporters After Storm

A FEMA supervisor is under investigation after whistleblowers revealed that disaster relief workers were instructed to skip homes displaying Trump signs in Highlands County, Florida. The directive reportedly left dozens of homes without access to federal assistance following Hurricane Milton.

The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, allegedly issued the guidance both verbally and in group chats, according to internal communications obtained by The Daily Wire. Relief workers documented skipped homes in FEMA’s tracking system with notes such as “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”

One FEMA worker expressed frustration over the directive, stating, “I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them.” Highlands County, a Republican stronghold, suffered extensive damage from flooding and tornadoes during the hurricane.

FEMA responded by removing Washington from her role and launching an investigation. A spokesperson for the agency described the situation as “horrifying” and emphasized FEMA’s commitment to impartial disaster relief efforts.

The incident has sparked outrage among Republicans, who argue that the politicization of federal assistance undermines public trust. Whistleblowers also filed complaints claiming the directive violates principles of fairness and equality.

FEMA stated that more than 365,000 households in Florida have received aid following Hurricanes Milton and Helene, despite the controversy surrounding relief efforts in Highlands County.
