Elon Musk’s H-1B Push Could Undercut American Workers

Elon Musk’s support for the H-1B visa program is sparking outrage within conservative circles, with critics warning the policy could harm American workers. Musk’s endorsement of bringing more skilled foreign workers to the U.S. has raised concerns about a “race to the bottom” in wages and benefits.

Musk recently defended H-1B visas on social media, crediting the program for bolstering companies like SpaceX and Tesla. However, his remarks, including a heated response to a critic — “Take a big step back and F— YOURSELF in the face” — have amplified the backlash.

Critics argue Musk has a financial interest in expanding the visa program. By hiring less expensive foreign workers, companies like Tesla could reduce labor costs. But this strategy could force American tech workers to accept decreasing compensation to remain competitive, severely impacting the middle class.

Steve Bannon slammed Musk on his War Room podcast, calling H-1B visas a “scam” that displaces American workers. “You are a war profiteer; you’re sleeping with the enemy,” Bannon said, accusing Musk of being more loyal to globalist interests than U.S. values.

Laura Loomer, another Trump ally, has urged the GOP to push back against Musk’s influence. She warned that tech industry priorities could undermine President Donald Trump’s nationalist agenda, further hurting middle-class Americans.

Musk’s business interests in countries like China, where labor is cheaper, have also come under scrutiny. Critics allege these ties drive his push for looser labor policies in the U.S.
