Burger With Blood Raises Serious Concerns
A terrifying discovery at a New York Burger King has sparked serious health and safety concerns after a mother found blood on her 4-year-old daughter’s meal. The incident, which also affected the mother’s meal and the toys included in the kids’ meal, has garnered widespread attention and outrage.
Tiffany Floyd, the mother involved, shared her shocking experience on TikTok, where her video quickly went viral, receiving 2.1 million views. “All I heard was, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I grabbed her bag, thinking that they messed up our order again, and I looked and there was just blood all over her hamburger, all over the wrapper. I looked inside the bag, there’s blood on her toys, everything,” Floyd told the New York Post.
The Burger King manager explained that the blood contamination occurred because a cook had cut his hand. Despite offering a refund, Floyd’s primary concern was her daughter’s health. She consulted a pediatrician who recommended a series of blood tests over the next year to monitor for potential disease transmission.
Adding to Floyd’s distress was the manager’s refusal to disclose the identity of the injured employee, preventing immediate testing and potentially alleviating the need for her daughter’s repeated medical tests. Floyd reported the incident to the Niagara County Department of Health, though the department has yet to comment.
In response, Burger King’s corporate office offered to cover the medical expenses incurred. However, Floyd believes this is not enough given the ongoing impact on her daughter’s well-being and her own heightened anxiety. “We were deeply upset and concerned to learn of this incident. We have been in contact with the Guest and are working with her to resolve this incident,” the company stated. They also confirmed that the restaurant was temporarily closed to retrain staff and undergo a thorough cleaning by an external company.
