Biden Administration Auctions Off Border Wall Materials To Slow Trump’s Immigration Policies
In its final weeks in power, the Biden administration is auctioning off unused border wall materials, drawing sharp criticism from opponents who say the move undermines President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to secure the southern border.
According to a report by the Daily Wire, massive piles of steel bollard wall sections, which remained untouched throughout Biden’s term, are being hauled off from border locations in Arizona, including Tucson and Nogales. The materials are then auctioned through GovPlanet, a government surplus platform, with bids starting as low as $5.
A whistleblower from Customs and Border Protection shared that the materials are being moved at a rapid pace, with as much as half a mile of wall hauled away daily. The process is reportedly aimed at clearing the unused segments before Christmas, as part of what critics see as an effort to stymie Trump’s ability to quickly restart construction.
Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) described the move as a deliberate effort to sabotage Trump’s agenda. “The Biden administration is purposefully hamstringing an incoming president,” Crane said. “This is a direct affront to the will of the people who supported Trump’s border security mandate.”
The removal of these materials comes as Trump plans to use an executive order to restart construction on the wall, a key promise of his campaign. Critics argue that the administration’s decision to sell off the wall pieces reflects a broader failure to address the border crisis during Biden’s presidency.
With millions of illegal immigrants crossing the border in recent years, the fate of the wall has become a flashpoint in the immigration debate, setting the stage for renewed battles over security in Trump’s upcoming term.
