Al Qaeda’s Syrian Regime Slaughters Christians As World Stays Silent

A wave of massacres is sweeping through Syria’s Christian and Alawite communities as the Islamist regime installed after Assad’s fall tightens its grip. More than 1,800 people have been executed in the past few days, with witnesses describing entire villages being wiped out by government-backed fighters.

The new leadership, which came to power after President Bashar Al Assad fled to Russia in December, has shown no restraint in its crackdown on religious minorities. Assad had protected Christians using the Syrian military in the past, but his ouster left them completely vulnerable.

Ahmed al-Sharaa, the interim leader with deep ties to Al Qaeda, initially claimed his government would respect all communities. However, human rights groups now report systematic executions of Christians, destruction of churches and mass displacement.

Western nations have largely ignored the religious aspect of the violence. The United Nations issued a statement condemning the general loss of life but failed to acknowledge the targeting of Christian and Alawite civilians. The media, too, has focused on political shifts rather than the reality on the ground.

Despite its military strength, Israel has taken no action to protect Syria’s Christian population. While Israeli leaders have spoken about the dangers of jihadist rule in Syria, there has been no move to provide aid or intervene in the ongoing slaughter.

Local reports paint a grim picture of the crisis. Priests have been executed, Christian families have been slaughtered in their homes and survivors are fleeing into the mountains. With no international action, many fear the Christian presence in Syria could be wiped out entirely.

As the killings continue, the world remains indifferent. Those left in Syria’s Christian enclaves wonder if anyone will come to their aid before it is too late.
